Joyner Lucas is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer. His discography includes the mixtape, 508-507-2209 (2017), and the singles “I’m Not Racist”, “Ross Capicchioni” and “I’m Sorry”. He’s currently signed to Atlantic Records. Lucas was born Gary Maurice Lucas Jr. on August 17, 1988, in Worcester, Massachusetts. He’s a graduate of South High Community School.

CAREER
Lucas was drawn to hip-hop music at a young age. He debuted on the music scene under the stage name “G-Storm”. Artists that he grew up listening to includes Eminem, Biggie and Nas. Lucas formed the group ‘Film Skool Rejekts’ alongside his uncle Cyrus Tha Great. The other members were DJ Prince and Sheen Phillips. Their first project, Workprint, was released in 2007 as a free download. It featured production from J Dilla, Madlib, Dr. Dre and a few others. Lucas signed to Atlantic Records in 2016, his first major label. His Atlantic debut, 508-507-2209, was released in June 2017. It rose to #7 on the Top Heatseekers Albums chart. The tape produced four singles “I’m Sorry”, “Ultrasound”, “Just Like You” and “Winter Blues”. It featured guest artists Stefflon Don and Mystikal. Lucas dropped his controversial single “I’m Not Racist” in November 2017. The official video, released on November 28, 2017, has been viewed more than 36 million times on YouTube. Lucas has collaborated with acts like Tech N9ne, Logic, Kyle Bent, Busta Rhymes and Young RJ. He dropped a remix to Lil Pump‘s “Gucci Gang” in December 2017.
